Words are powerful

I had a few initial ideas when we were given this brief. My first thought was to do it on the topic of men who hate women, as I had just recently read an insightful book on the subject. I spent the afternoon having some pretty interesting conversations with peers trying to see where my passion lays. I settled on Eating disorder specifically how they affect young people, I had some visual ideas in my mind for this topic.

After completing this A2   page of initial imagery it became clear to me that this was not the right topic for me, I was struggling to feel passionate towards it and didn't have many ideas beyond basic visuals that come up immediately for anybody.
So I went back to researching...

I decided to look into currently ongoing conflicts to see if there was any I hadn't heard of. To my surprise there was loads I hadn't heard of including the Myanmar conflict which has been going on for decades and still has a huge number of casualties yearly. I started to wonder why I hadn't heard of this. Further investigation revealed that there are many many human rights violations taking place in Myanmar and the start of this conflict was when we gave Burma back from our British empire, leaving it to figure out its identity that we stole from it in the first place.
The passion and interest this sparked in me made me go ahead and choose it as my editorial topic, I think it has endless imagery to be experimented with as well as multiple possible angles of approach.

New brainstorm for new topic. Getting very basic ideas out so I can get to the better ideas that are less obvious.
